PROGRESS & POSTERITY is an exhibit that juxtaposes the present and the past to ponder the price of progress in Singapore. In its rapid pace of development, the new is valorized and any elements of lived history are systematically demolished, constituting a collective forgetting. The remaining remnants are an empty monuments, government-sanitized fragments repackaged for consumption for tourists and the populace.
